This role is within the immunohistochemistry laboratory, as part of an international Pathology team embedded within the Precision Medicine group based in Princeton, New Jersey. In this role you will help build a state-of-the-art histology and immunohistochemistry team to support a variety of discovery, pre-clinical and clinical programs. Knowledge of Digital Pathology is recommended for this role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in biomedical science with an interest/experience in histology and immunohistochemistry assay development.
  • Minimum of 5 years Research experience
  • Experience managing human tissues and working with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience with Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Positive and open mindset and willingness to work in multidisciplinary teams in close collaboration with pathologists and other scientists.

Nice To Haves

  • Multiplex immunohistochemistry staining on Leica Bond and Roche Discovery/Benchmark Ultra Plus platforms are a plus.
  • Eligibility for American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification for Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) desired but not required.
  • Understanding and experience with CAP Accreditation requirements is a plus.
  • Knowledge of pre-clinical tissue processing and biomarker development is desired but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Process, embed, and section tissue blocks (paraffin) for human and tissues.
  • Perform histologic tissue stains such as Hematoxylin & Eosin (H&E) and run immunohistochemistry (IHC) assays for single-plex chromogenic and fluorescence, as well as multiplex IHC and IF using our automated platforms (Leica Bond, Ventana Discovery Ultra, Ventana Benchmark Ultra Plus).
  • Run in situ hybridization (ISH) assays using RNA Scope and Base scope probes, in single and multiple channels, mainly on the Leica Bond platform.
  • Scan microscopic slides using standard bright field and fluorescence scanners as needed and perform basic image analysis using Halo, Visio pharm, Leica AT2, Leica GT450.
  • Perform digital pathology image analysis on scanned stained slides and develop algorithms to evaluate data.
  • Help manage a human tissue database and downstream lab processes using a Laboratory Information Management System (LabVantage), and a digital image database.
