About The Position

DRS RADA Technologies, a subsidiary of Leonardo DRS, is seeking a full-time, on-site Principal Radar Systems Analyst in Germantown, Maryland. The role provides technical leadership for radar performance analysis and systems engineering across counter-unmanned aircraft systems, counter-rocket, artillery, and mortar, and short-range air defense programs. The analyst translates operational needs into models, simulations, requirements, and technical solutions, supporting radar system performance and real-world defense applications. This hands-on position works at the systems-engineering level rather than in production or manufacturing, and is not limited to a single radar system, tool, or artifact. It involves collaboration with systems, software, hardware, integration, test, and operational teams. The analyst is expected to independently lead technical workstreams, make sound engineering decisions, and mentor colleagues. The position is based on-site in Germantown, Maryland, and follows a 9/80 schedule. U.S. citizenship is required. The position requires an active DoD security clearance or the ability to obtain one within a reasonable time after employment begins. The expected salary range is $134,332–$181,349 per year. Employees may also be eligible for annual performance-based bonuses, equity awards, and overtime pay for non-exempt employees as applicable.

  • At least eight years of relevant experience.
  • Advanced technical and domain knowledge in systems engineering and radar performance analysis.
  • Ability to independently lead a technical group and apply sound engineering judgment in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Broad systems engineering experience, including requirements management; functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design; system integration; technical risk management; and verification and validation principles.
  • Experience developing and using systems engineering artifacts, including specifications, Interface Control Documents, use cases, system architecture descriptions, and trade studies.
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense customers and processes.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance; the position requires an active DoD security clearance or the ability to obtain one within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
  • Advanced experience with analysis and automation tools such as Jenkins, Cameo, STK, MATLAB, and Python.
  • Strong organizational, written communication, presentation, and analytical skills.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain technical project plans for designing, developing, documenting, testing, and delivering radar performance-analysis tools that meet program cost, schedule, and technical-performance targets.
  • Provide technical leadership to the systems engineering analysis team and define sound approaches to complex radar and system-performance challenges.
  • Develop, deploy, and maintain models, simulations, and analysis tools that inform system integration, test planning, and performance characterization.
  • Translate customer needs and limited source documentation into clear system requirements and work with development teams to incorporate those requirements into an Agile execution framework.
  • Create and maintain systems engineering artifacts, including specifications, Interface Control Documents, use cases, system architecture descriptions, trade studies, and verification and validation plans.
  • Identify technical risks, recommend mitigation strategies, and support systems design, requirements allocation, integration, and verification and validation activities.
