Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as a Principal Project Manager / Sr. Principal Project Manager based in Sunnyvale, CA. You will join Marine Systems as an individual contributor directing and managing activities associated with the Regional Strike Launcher Program Office. The ideal candidate demonstrates a broad skill set that is balanced between interpersonal, business, and technical capabilities. You have the ability to collaborate within and across teams to accomplish goals. You are committed to ethics, integrity, and innovation while challenging traditional ways of doing business. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills and you are comfortable engaging with the internal and external customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, OR a Masters degree with 3 or more years of relevant work experience (for Principal level)
  • Bachelors degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience, OR a Masters degree with 6 or more years of relevant work experience (for Sr. Principal level)
  • Experience in Program/Project Management, CAM Responsibilities and EVMS knowledge
  • Experience working closely with multiple functional organizations (Program Office, Engineering, Manufacturing, Field Operations, etc.)
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US Government secret clearance
  • U.S. citizenship required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Strategic, Conventional, and/or Regional Strike Launcher Subsystems
  • Design and operational experience with Navy Programs
  • Experience with Microsoft system application and Agile project management tools
  • Experience with cost, schedule, project leadership

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project teams, and functional management.
  • Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.
  • Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, functional teams, and customers.
