About The Position

RealPage Payments is the purpose-built payments engine within the RealPage platform, powering rent, deposit, and fee payments across a broad range of property types. Its integration with RealPage property management solutions helps property management companies streamline rent collection, reduce manual processing and fraud risk, and provide residents with flexible digital payment options. The Principal Product Manager owns the risk and compliance strategy, roadmap, and execution across existing and new payment products, from concept through launch and scale. The role serves as the day-to-day product owner for its domain, leading a cross-functional pod without direct people-management responsibility. It defines priorities and requirements, manages backlogs, makes product trade-offs, and creates detailed PRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria that support engineering delivery with minimal rework. The position leads new payment risk capabilities through discovery, business-case development, requirements, build, testing, rollout, training, and post-launch measurement. It also partners with Marketing and go-to-market teams on positioning and sales enablement, serves as a payments subject matter expert, participates in executive briefings, and works with Operations, Legal, and Compliance to deliver resilient, scalable, compliant products. AI tools are used to accelerate discovery and product writing, with the product manager responsible for validating outputs.

  • Strong familiarity with payment flows, including card, ACH, cash/offline, and digital wallets, and with payment economics.
  • Track record of authoring technical PRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria that engineers can implement, capturing edge cases, non-functional requirements, and compliance controls.
