Principal Product Manager

Alianza, Inc.Pleasant Grove, UT
Remote

About The Position

Alianza recently acquired Broadsource, bringing EMU (Extract, Manipulate, Update), an 18-module orchestration and configuration suite, into the Alianza portfolio. This role owns the strategy and roadmap for the EMU product set as it is integrated into Alianza's Intelligent Communications Fabric (ICF), and shares ownership of the technical foundation that lets external Experience Partners (EPs) build on Alianza's platform, including the EP-facing API surface and a consent engine planned for 2027. The person in this role is expected to bring structure and a well-informed point of view to both areas, in close partnership with engineering, legal, and the commercial team.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of product management experience, including meaningful time owning API-first or platform products.
  • Experience taking a newly acquired or newly inherited product through a productization or build-vs-buy-vs-integrate decision.
  • Demonstrated experience defining and shipping partner- or developer-facing APIs.
  • Comfortable operating with ambiguity and building structure (roadmaps, frameworks, pipelines) where it does not yet exist.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, particularly with engineering, legal, and commercial teams.
  • Voice or telecom domain expertise is not required. Alianza will support ramp-up on voice architecture (ICF, Core, Fusion, Loom) for a strong API-background candidate.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in UCaaS, CPaaS, or other large-scale distributed cloud communications platforms.
  • Experience with consent, privacy, or permissions systems (for example, OpenFGA or comparable authorization frameworks).
  • Experience integrating a product following a merger or acquisition.
  • Prior experience at a startup or scale-up building platform or partner-facing products.

Responsibilities

  • Own the go-forward strategy for the EMU product suite following the Broadsource acquisition, shaping how its capabilities are packaged and delivered within Alianza's platform.
  • Translate EMU's 18 modules into a prioritized roadmap that reflects real Alianza use cases, distinguishing Broadsource's stated value from Alianza-validated value at each step.
  • Resolve overlap and sequencing questions between EMU and existing Alianza tools that touch similar ground (for example, LEC for professional services migrations and Metamon for Core configuration extraction).
  • Define how EMU supports the ICF story, including its role as an OSS/BSS change-velocity layer and any tactical bridging value while ICF itself matures.
  • Partner with commercial and Advantage program stakeholders on packaging and pricing for EMU-derived capabilities.
  • Own the roadmap for northbound APIs that Experience Partners use to integrate with Alianza's platform, in partnership with the API architecture PM.
  • Scope and lead the consent engine initiative targeted for 2027, defining how end-user and account-level consent is captured, stored, and enforced across EP integrations.
  • Align consent engine design with Alianza's existing permissions architecture (OpenFGA-based) and with applicable data privacy requirements.
  • Work with engineering to evaluate build, partner, and license options where EMU or third-party capability can accelerate EP API delivery.
  • Partner closely with engineering leadership on technical feasibility and sequencing across EMU and the EP API surface.
  • Coordinate with legal on consent, data privacy, and IP questions arising from EMU integration and the consent engine.
  • Contribute to and improve the frameworks the broader product team uses for partner enablement.
  • Represent EMU and the EP platform in relevant external partner and developer conversations.
