Principal Product Manager, Web

VAST Data•Remote, NY

About The Position

The Principal Product Manager, Web turns the vastdata.com roadmap into shipped work and sets product standards for the Website & Digital Experience team. The role owns major website initiatives from brief through launch, including scope, backlog, acceptance criteria, and measurement of results. The team is completing a migration from Contentful to Webflow, enabling faster launches, a new component library, and renewed testing and personalization on the platform. The position reports to the Director of Website and works closely with design, development, and agency partners. The role leads initiative delivery, experience and content structure, measurement, stakeholder intake, and product leadership. It owns component strategy and vendor and tool evaluations, and serves as the Director of Website's backup for roadmap and go/no-go decisions when the Director is unavailable.

Requirements

  • 8 to 10 years of experience in web or digital product management, including ownership of a B2B marketing or corporate website.
  • Hands-on experience shipping work in an agile team, including writing tickets and acceptance criteria and managing a backlog in Jira.
  • Comfort with GA4 or a similar analytics tool, with the ability to set success metrics and report on them independently.
  • Experience working with designers and developers, including an outside agency.
  • End-to-end experience leading at least one CMS migration or replatform, or a major site redesign.
  • Experience building or running an experimentation program, not only individual tests.
  • Executive presence, including the ability to defend a roadmap tradeoff to a VP and explain a ticket to a developer.

Nice To Haves

  • Webflow experience or experience with another visual CMS such as Contentful.
  • Experience with A/B testing or personalization tools such as Webflow Optimize or VWO.
  • B2B technology or enterprise marketing experience.
  • Familiarity with SEO and AI search basics, including redirects, metadata, and page structure.

Responsibilities

  • Turn roadmap initiatives into project plans with clear scope, milestones, and owners.
  • Own initiative backlogs by writing business tickets, defining acceptance criteria, and preparing tickets for sprint readiness.
  • Make scope and tradeoff decisions within initiatives and escalate cross-initiative conflicts to the Director of Website.
  • Provide final product sign-off on work before it ships.
  • Build content maps and page briefs for new and redesigned pages.
  • Recommend page components and opportunities to reuse existing components in partnership with the Web Experience Design Lead.
  • Keep authoring templates and page guidance current so marketers can build Webflow pages without engineering help.
  • Set success metrics for each initiative before launch.
  • Report post-launch results using GA4 and web dashboards, including traffic, engagement, and form conversion.
  • Plan and run A/B tests and personalization on Webflow after the migration is complete.
  • Conduct lightweight user testing on high-traffic and high-intent pages.
  • Triage web requests from product marketing, demand generation, events, and brand.
  • Keep stakeholders informed about status, dates, and changes through Jira and Asana.
  • Own component strategy, including which components exist, where they are used, and the order in which they are built.
  • Lead web-stack vendor and tool evaluations, from requirements through recommendation.
  • Act as the Director of Website's backup for roadmap and go/no-go decisions when the Director is unavailable.
  • Coach the team on the operating model, including ticket lifecycle, RACI, and capacity planning.
