Principal Product Manager, Member Experience

Teladoc Health•Uniondale, NY
•$200,000 - $230,000•Remote

About The Position

Join the team leading the next evolution of virtual care. At Teladoc Health, you are empowered to bring your true self to work while helping millions of people live their healthiest lives. Here you will be part of a high-performance culture where colleagues embrace challenges, drive transformative solutions, and create opportunities for growth. Together, we’re transforming how better health happens. You'll own the vision and strategy for the core member software experience across the full care journey, from the moment a member first discovers what care is available through getting care and following up afterward. This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who thinks in systems, has strong product design sense, and uses data and user research to decide what to build and why. You'll turn ambiguous, cross-cutting problems into clear direction, set a vision that delights members while working within the realities of a complex, regulated healthcare environment, and earn trust with partners from engineering leads to senior executives. You operate with a high degree of autonomy and are the person we point at a complex, high-priority problem to chase down end to end.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of product management experience at a senior level in consumer-facing products at meaningful scale, with enough breadth and variety of problems to think from first principles.
  • Direct ownership of at least one consumer product experience from ambiguous problem to measurable adoption, with evidence of discovering product direction rather than only delivering against an established roadmap.
  • Strong command of B2C product dynamics, including onboarding, activation, engagement, retention, and habit formation across multi-step user journeys.
  • Strong product analytics proficiency, including experience with product analytics tools and SQL; able to combine qualitative and quantitative insight to make sound decisions with incomplete information, tell signal from noise, and explain what was learned beyond which number moved.
  • Strong technical fluency, including an understanding of how modern software applications work, APIs, data flows, and system dependencies; able to collaborate effectively with engineering and understand technical constraints and trade-offs without requiring deep platform or architectural expertise.
  • Executive presence and a proven ability to build trust with business and engineering stakeholders and to influence senior leaders in a matrixed organization without formal authority.
  • Empathy for users navigating health concerns and genuine conviction about the role technology can play in improving healthcare access and outcomes; experience in healthcare, fintech, or other regulated, high-stakes categories is a plus but not required.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication; fluency at both altitudes, from articulating a differentiated vision to working through the detailed tradeoffs required to ship it; low ego and high ownership; the judgment to balance collaborative openness with decisive vision-setting, and comfort advocating for a direction among ambiguous options in fast-moving environments where the answer isn't handed to you.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong product design sense: fluent in design language, able to give structured, differentiated critique and bring taste and craft to design conversations; experience working in design-forward product organizations.
  • Experience in digital health, health tech, or another high-stakes consumer space preferred.
  • Comfortable operating with high autonomy in fast-moving, ambiguous environments where standards and processes often need to be built from scratch.

Responsibilities

  • Set the vision and strategy: define a multi-year vision and roadmap for the core member-facing software experience across the full care journey, and prioritize smartly among competing efforts to deliver the greatest value for members.
  • Think in systems: map the complete member journey end to end, break down ambiguous, cross-cutting problems into clear requirements, and drive alignment across engineering, design, data science, clinical, operations, and marketing.
  • Champion great design: partner with design as a strategic differentiator, contribute directly to design reviews and critiques, push back where warranted, and hold a high bar on craft and attention to detail, connecting the smallest interaction elements into a coherent end-to-end experience, especially where metrics don't fully capture what members feel.
  • Drive outcomes with data and research: use user research, behavioral data, and A/B testing to inform decisions and pivot or stop work when the evidence demands it; define success metrics, and counter-metrics focused on activation, engagement, retention, and lasting member value.
  • Take ideas from concept to impact: convert opportunities into well-scoped projects, lead the team through prototyping, launch, and iteration, and hold the team to a high standard of execution.
  • Lead up, down, and across the organization: serve as a credible senior product voice with engineers and executives alike, synthesize complexity into a simple, persuasive narrative, create clarity without pretending certainty by communicating what we believe, what we've learned, and what remains unknown, and carry complex conversations independently.
  • Raise the bar for product: mentor other product managers on product craft, systems thinking, and analytical rigor.
