About The Position

Fivetran and dbt Labs are bringing together their data movement and analytics engineering capabilities to help organizations build a trusted foundation for analytics, AI, and business decisions. The Principal Partner Solutions Architect (GSI) serves as the global technical advisor to priority Global Systems Integrators (GSIs), combining technical depth and business insight to guide executive-level conversations and the execution of joint business plans. This person is the ecosystem peer to GSI lead architects and delivery leads and owns the technical capability, overarching solution architecture, and multi-year technology bets for the supported GSI partnership. The role partners closely with global alliance leads, GSI practice and delivery leadership, regional Partner Solutions Architects and Partnerships teams, and product managers across Fivetran and dbt Labs. It sits at the intersection of field engineering, product management, and partnerships and reports directly to the Global Head of Partner Solutions Architecture. The position is full-time and based in the US, with travel to partner and customer sites, conferences, and related events as needed.

Requirements

  • Direct experience with technology and/or systems integrator alliances, or experience on the delivery or practice side of a GSI or similar consulting organization, with a track record of shaping and scaling technical partner go-to-market.
  • At least 10 years of experience as an enterprise or solutions architect, or in an equivalent customer- and partner-facing role.
  • Fluency across the modern data stack, including ingestion, transformation, orchestration, warehouses or lakehouses, semantic layers, catalogs, BI, and agent/MCP technologies, and the ability to explain how these components fit a systems integrator's delivery practice.
  • Demonstrable understanding of how GSIs operate and build, deploy, and monetize intellectual property with technology partners.
  • Experience engaging and presenting with senior technical stakeholders and executive leaders, and business acumen to translate technical solutions into partner and customer value.
  • Experience with modern AI paradigms, generative AI, and data technologies, including evaluating and reviewing technical solutions.
  • Ability to influence GSI audiences, identify expansion engagements in partner accounts, accelerate agreement velocity, and prevent partner-delivery escalations on GSI-led mega-agreements.
  • Ability to deliver results and work cross-functionally to position and orchestrate joint solutions spanning multiple products.

Nice To Haves

  • Verticalized knowledge of data and analytics technology solutions and ability to learn and work with new and emerging tools, methodologies, and platforms.
  • Experience with structured enterprise architecture practices, hybrid deployments, and on-premise-to-cloud migration roadmaps.
  • Ability to influence product roadmaps by gathering partner requirements, building prioritization cases, and gaining acceptance from product leadership.
  • Hands-on experience with dbt and Fivetran.

Responsibilities

  • Build trusted advisory relationships with priority GSIs and engage senior technical stakeholders and practice leads to secure multi-year technology bets with Fivetran and dbt Labs.
  • Own the joint technical narrative and capability messaging for the combined platform, including reference architectures, integration patterns, and the joint value story used by GSI consultants with mutual customers.
  • Provide modern data platform and enterprise technology expertise and promote Fivetran and dbt Labs with partners, at conferences, and online.
  • Recommend integration strategies, partner-side enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure for complex GSI mega-agreements.
  • Maintain a current view of integration state, gaps, and opportunities across the combined platform and collaborate with Product to drive appropriate outcomes.
  • Co-develop replicable, enterprise-grade intellectual property and joint solutions with GSI partners, product management, and technical teams; evangelize the resulting IP to drive adoption.
  • Run the standing technical cadence with GSI practice and delivery leadership as the primary technical counterpart.
  • Influence GSI audiences, identify expansion engagements within partner accounts, accelerate agreement velocity, and prevent partner-delivery escalations on GSI-led mega-agreements.
  • Work with regional Partner Solutions Architects and Partnerships teams to translate global GSI relationships into regional execution and enable those teams to run the motion independently.
  • Travel to partner and customer sites, conferences, and related events as needed.
