About The Position

TrendAI™, the global AI security leader and enterprise business unit of Trend Micro, is seeking a Principal Solutions Architect, AI to serve as the subject matter expert for its AI Security portfolio. The role owns the technical narrative and architecture strategy across AI Infrastructure Security, AI Application Security, and AI Public-Facing Application Security. It works with sales, Solutions Engineering, Product Management, and customers to drive technical wins and shape the company’s AI security market positioning.

This is a high-visibility, field-facing architecture role involving executive whiteboard sessions as well as hands-on proof-of-concept work with AI/ML engineering teams. The position is remote in the United States and includes technical discovery, solution architecture, customer presentations, reusable enablement development, product feedback, competitive positioning, mentoring, and external representation of TrendAI.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience in security architecture, solutions engineering, or a related pre-sales or technical role.
• Strong working knowledge of AI/ML system architecture, including model training and serving infrastructure, MLOps pipelines, and cloud AI services such as AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, and GCP Vertex AI.
• Hands-on understanding of LLM application security risks, such as those in the OWASP Top 10 for LLM Applications, including prompt injection, jailbreaks, data poisoning, and model extraction or theft.
• Experience securing public-facing applications and APIs, including API security, WAF, and exposure management.
• Familiarity with CSPM, CNAPP, or equivalent cloud-native security tooling.
• Excellent executive presentation, communication, and technical storytelling skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without employment-based visa sponsorship, both currently and in the future.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Trend Vision One or a comparable XDR/CNAPP platform.
• Security certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, or cloud-specific security certifications.
• Experience designing and running technical proof-of-concept or demo environments for AI security use cases.
• Familiarity with agentic AI frameworks and protocols such as LangChain, AutoGen, and MCP.
• Prior experience in customer-facing solutions architecture or a field CTO role.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical subject matter expert for AI Security across the US Solutions Engineering organization and support strategic opportunities end-to-end.
• Architect and present solutions for AI infrastructure security, including model training and serving pipelines, GPU and cloud AI workloads, MLOps toolchains, and underlying compute and data infrastructure.
• Architect and present solutions for AI application security, including protection of LLM-integrated applications, RAG pipelines, and agentic workflows against risks such as prompt injection, data poisoning, model theft, and insecure plugin or tool use.
• Architect and present solutions for public-facing AI applications and APIs, including chatbots, copilots, and public inference endpoints, to address exposure, abuse, and data leakage.
• Lead technical discovery, solution architecture, and proof-of-concept engagements for top AI security opportunities.
• Build and maintain reference architectures, demo environments, and reusable enablement content for the Solutions Engineering bench.
• Deliver executive and technical presentations to CISOs, security architects, and AI/ML engineering leaders.
• Partner with Product Management to channel field and customer feedback into the AI security roadmap.
• Track the competitive AI security landscape and maintain current positioning and battlecards.
• Mentor and upskill Solutions Engineers and Solutions Architects on AI security concepts, demo delivery, and objection handling.
• Represent TrendAI externally at industry events, webinars, and analyst briefings on AI security.
