About The Position

As a Lead AI and Data Science Engineer II on Deloitte’s AI & Data team, you will drive technology-focused client delivery across complex engagements. You will work with client stakeholders and sponsors as the primary technical contact for your workstream, delivering solutions from design and prototyping through testing and production rollout. You will guide small teams, provide technical direction, and help clients build and operate advanced data and AI platforms, products, insights, and services. The role involves designing and building autonomous, multi-agent systems powered by models for large organizations, while helping clients transform technology platforms, modernize operations, improve financial performance, and drive innovation. The position may require travel averaging up to 50%, depending on the work and clients served. Recruiting for this role ends on 10/30/2026.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of professional experience in data science, machine learning, or Generative AI, including developing or prototyping LLM applications using LLM APIs, prompt engineering, RAG, or vector retrieval.
• At least 4 years of hands-on experience with Python and SQL across enterprise data, analytics, and machine learning platforms.
• At least 4 years of experience developing enterprise data products, data models, automated analytics pipelines, and decision-support solutions for reporting, trend analysis, traceability, or root-cause analysis.
• At least 2 years of experience leading, managing, and delivering complex AI Solutions engagements.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
• Ability to travel up to 50% on average, based on the work and clients and industries/sectors served.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in consulting or other client-facing delivery roles.
• Experience using Claude through Azure AI Foundry, Amazon Bedrock, Google Vertex AI, or the native Anthropic API.
• Experience designing or implementing production agentic workflows involving orchestration, tool integration, state management, evaluation, guardrails, and human-in-the-loop controls.
• Professional certifications in Generative AI, machine learning, or cloud AI technologies, such as Anthropic Claude, AWS Certified AI Practitioner, Google Cloud Generative AI Leader, Microsoft Azure AI, or CompTIA AI+.
• Experience developing client-facing materials for workshops and interactive sessions.
• Experience presenting technical content to technical and nontechnical audiences in small- and large-group settings.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clear, consistent communication with client stakeholders and internal engagement leadership.
• Design and build autonomous, multi-agent systems powered by models for large organizations.
