Principal Modem Engineer

Ericsson•Santa Clara, CA
•$234,000 - $292,500

About The Position

Ericsson Enterprise Wireless Solutions is expanding its North American modem engineering team to develop advanced 5G cellular solutions with global Ericsson teams and chipset partners. The Principal Modem Engineer will lead the architecture, development, and integration of cellular modem drivers and eSIM/eUICC provisioning stacks on OpenWrt-based platforms, taking ownership of connectivity from kernel-level USB/PCIe drivers through QMI/RMNET interfaces and eSIM profile lifecycle management. The role also drives technical strategy, engineering practices, and the development of modem and eSIM capabilities across 5G product lines. The engineer will design, develop, and optimize modem host platform software for LGA modules, helping shape platform architecture and deliver high-performance, power-efficient 5G modem solutions. This is a full-time position based in the United States, with priority locations in Boise, Idaho, and Santa Clara, California. Ericsson does not sponsor U.S. work authorization for this position and does not hire F-1 candidates working on CPT or EAD for it.
