Principal Mission Solution Architect

CACI•Jessup, MD
•$137,400 - $302,300

About The Position

The Principal Mission Solution Architect supports CACI’s Mission & Engineering Support (M&ES) portfolio by leading compelling, executable, and scorable solutions for complex and strategically important DoD, Intelligence Community, and interagency opportunities. The role translates ambiguous customer missions and acquisition requirements into clear solution and proposal narratives. It is an executive-level, mission-focused architecture position—not a generic enterprise IT role—and serves as a recognized technical leader and trusted advisor. The architect shapes short- to mid-term solution strategies, influences business decisions, leads cross-functional teams without direct reporting relationships, briefs senior leadership, and mentors other Solution Architects. The role supports a portfolio spanning lifecycle sustainment; systems engineering and software modernization; operations, planning, training, and readiness; intelligence analysis and operations; and UXS/C-UXS employment and integration. Travel may be required up to 25%, locally. The role requires an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility. The proposed salary range is $137,400–$302,300.

  • Recommend operational plans, solution strategies, technical standards, and reusable patterns that strengthen M&ES capabilities, improve solution quality, and support business growth over a 1–2 year horizon.
  • Work with LOB leaders, Capture, BD, program teams, SMEs, and mission experts to identify customer priorities, operational gaps, critical issues, stated or implied requirements, and discriminators.
  • Translate mission needs into solution concepts, CONOPS, mission workflows, system architectures, staffing models, transition approaches, risk mitigations, and measurable outcomes.

  • Integrate people, process, technology, data, cyber, training, sustainment, and operations into a coherent solution, using SMEs for depth while retaining ownership of the integrated approach.
  • Lead development of scorable strengths, discriminators, proof points, storyboards, annotated graphics, white papers, technical volume outlines, and persuasive technical narratives.
  • Serve as technical volume lead or senior technical authority, including writing, rewriting, one-voicing, page-count management, solution alignment, and defense through gate, color-team, and executive reviews.
  • Brief senior leaders on novel or high-impact solutions, alternatives, risks, and recommendations, and influence decisions on matters of strategic importance to the organization.
