Principal Mission Solution Architect

CACI International•Herndon, VA
•$137,400 - $302,300

About The Position

As a Principal Mission Solution Architect supporting CACI’s Mission & Engineering Support (M&ES) portfolio, this executive-level role leads the development of compelling, executable, and scorable solutions for the company’s largest, most complex, and strategically important DoD, Intelligence Community, and interagency opportunities. The architect translates ambiguous customer missions and acquisition requirements into clear solution and proposal narratives and serves as a recognized technical leader and trusted advisor. The role shapes short- to mid-term solution strategies, influences business decisions, leads cross-functional teams without direct reporting relationships, briefs senior leaders, and mentors other Solution Architects. It is a mission-focused architecture role rather than a generic enterprise IT position, with an emphasis on depth across multiple mission areas. The position spans solution development from early customer shaping through proposal, oral presentation, award, and transition. It integrates people, processes, technology, data, cyber, training, sustainment, and operations into coherent solutions, while developing persuasive technical proposal content and reusable methods and artifacts for the M&ES portfolio.

  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Recognized expertise or mastery across multiple technical or mission areas, combined with sound business acumen and the ability to develop holistic solutions.
  • Proven experience leading technical solutions for large, complex, strategically important federal captures, proposals, capability-development efforts, or mission programs and influencing senior leadership decisions.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree.
  • Current CI or full-scope polygraph.
  • Experience leading strategic captures valued at $1B or more in total contract value.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical solution development for the largest and most complex pursuits, from early customer shaping through proposal, oral presentation, award, and transition.
  • Recommend operational plans, solution strategies, technical standards, and reusable patterns that strengthen M&ES capabilities, improve solution quality, and support business growth over a 1–2 year horizon.
  • Work with LOB leaders, Capture, BD, program teams, SMEs, and mission experts to identify customer priorities, operational gaps, critical issues, stated or implied requirements, and discriminators.
  • Translate mission needs into solution concepts, CONOPS, mission workflows, system architectures, staffing models, transition approaches, risk mitigations, and measurable outcomes.
  • Shape solutions across M&ES capability areas, including lifecycle sustainment; systems engineering and software modernization; operations, planning, training, and readiness; intelligence analysis and operations; and UXS/C-UXS employment and integration.
  • Integrate people, process, technology, data, cyber, training, sustainment, and operations into a coherent solution; use SMEs for depth while retaining ownership of the integrated approach.
  • Lead development of scorable strengths, discriminators, proof points, storyboards, annotated graphics, white papers, technical volume outlines, and persuasive technical narratives.
  • Serve as technical volume lead or senior technical authority, including writing, rewriting, one-voicing, page-count management, solution alignment, and defense through gate, color-team, and executive reviews.
  • Brief senior leaders on novel or high-impact solutions, alternatives, risks, and recommendations; influence decisions on matters of strategic importance to the organization.
