About The Position

The Enterprise Functions Technology (EFT) group provides technology solutions and support for business lines including Risk, Audit, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Corporate Properties, and Stakeholder Relations, as well as Wells Fargo Technology, Enterprise Shared Services, and Enterprise Data Management. Its applications and tools are continually engineered to meet needs for stability, security, scalability, and speed. Within Cloud and Infrastructure Engineering, the Cloud Enablement team accelerates cloud adoption across the EFT portfolio through consulting, solution design, engineering support, and reusable enablement assets. The team designs, builds, and optimizes cloud infrastructure and develops tools, training, documentation, and best practices so developers can build, deploy, and operate cloud-native applications. Through standardization, automation, and knowledge sharing, it supports a “you build it, you run it” operating model and reduces friction for application teams. The Principal Engineer will lead complex cloud modernization and platform engineering initiatives, provide technical expertise across public cloud, Kubernetes, Infrastructure-as-Code, and automation, and advance operational excellence using AI-enabled and agentic solutions. The role guides cloud adoption through architecture advice, reusable patterns, process alignment, and automation strategy. It also provides hands-on technical leadership, breaks complex work into actionable stories for contractors and junior team members, and mentors those team members. The position is suited to an engineering leader experienced with infrastructure across virtual machines, containers, AWS, Azure, and GCP who is motivated to remove barriers through automation and practical, developer-focused solutions.
