About The Position

Jabil is seeking a highly experienced and innovative Principal Electrical Controls Engineer for its Data Center Infrastructure (DCI) team. This role leads the development, optimization, and implementation of advanced control systems across critical infrastructure products and automation platforms, with a focus on data center infrastructure, power and energy management, and industrial automation. The position is remote or based in Austin, Texas, and requires up to 25% domestic and/or international travel, described as rare. The engineer owns control system architecture across platforms such as PLCs, BMS, EPMS, and ATS systems, and develops specifications, functional design documents, interface definitions, and control strategies. The role also includes designing wiring harness systems, creating schematics and panel layouts, selecting components, preparing specifications, and transitioning designs to manufacturing. The engineer leads test-process implementation and acceptance testing, validates systems through simulation, testing, and commissioning, and supports field teams with deployment, troubleshooting, and optimization. The role collaborates with electrical, mechanical, software, facilities, and cross-functional teams, as well as customers and supply chain partners, to align technical designs with business requirements and operating constraints. The DCI team develops end-to-end infrastructure solutions for data centers, including power distribution, cooling, mechanical structures, and networking infrastructure. This position is eligible for a performance-based short-term incentive. The listed pay range is $132,400–$238,400.
