The Principal Digital Electrical Engineer supports engineering development, integration, test, and transition-to-production efforts for complex electronic modules. The role provides electrical engineering support to a dynamic development team and leads first-unit testing, design verification testing, integration, and transition-to-production work on complex digital circuit cards and modules. The engineer works across the hardware organization and with other engineering disciplines and functions, exercising discretion and independent technical judgment. The position may involve designing complex digital circuits; agile hardware development, risk-reduction prototyping, and requirements-driven design and verification; and applying aero/defense engineering development processes, including design and testing to MIL-STD-704 and MIL-STD-461. It also involves hands-on laboratory work, testing and troubleshooting digital modules and related assemblies, resolving defects to root cause, and improving product and test design to reduce cost, increase yield, and improve throughput. The engineer leads and mentors junior engineers, collaborates with program personnel, and may interface with government customers and suppliers. The role also includes creating and reviewing technical documentation and providing training and support to technicians and manufacturing personnel.
