About The Position

Blue Ops is an M&A and FinOps consulting firm that partners with Private Equity and Investment Banks clients, supporting them throughout the M&A cycle. The Analytics practice specifically works with private equity firms and their portfolio companies to transform operational and financial data into actionable insights. Using a 4D delivery methodology, they build KPI frameworks, dashboards, and reporting foundations to drive value creation, executive visibility, business operations, and exit readiness. The Principal Consultant, Analytics is a key leadership role responsible for the entire data transformation lifecycle. This includes client interactions from initial sales conversations to the strategic discovery and oversight of analytics solutions. The role involves managing client relationships, leading consulting teams, and ensuring successful project delivery.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in Data & Analytics consulting.
  • At least 3 years in a leadership or management capacity.
  • Proven ability to lead discovery workshops.
  • Ability to effectively manage diverse stakeholder opinions and guide teams toward a unified technical vision.
  • Exceptional negotiation, conflict resolution, and active listening skills.
  • Ability to navigate high-pressure environments with composure.
  • Ability to translate complex technical data concepts into clear, understandable business language for non-technical leaders and stakeholders.
  • Strong and practical understanding of the modern data stack, including cloud data warehousing, ETL processes, and business intelligence (BI) tools.
  • Experience applying modern data stack tools to solve real-world business problems.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with account executives to scope technical solutions, estimate level of effort (LOE), and draft Statements of Work (SOW).
  • Identify opportunities within existing accounts to expand the firm’s footprint.
  • Present data strategies to C-suite stakeholders (CDO, CTO, CFO).
  • Lead workshops to translate business pain points into analytical requirements.
  • Design the end-to-end journey from raw data to business insight, prioritizing high-value use cases.
  • Collaborate with clients to define success metrics, KPIs, and the user experience for data products.
  • Ensure dashboards meet the needs of executive personas and drive decision-making.
  • Act as the liaison between client stakeholders and internal engineering teams.
  • Own project budget, timeline, and resource allocation.
  • Manage client escalations and ensure project success.
  • Ensure final products deliver measurable business ROI for the client.
  • Lead and mentor data engineers and analysts, fostering their growth.
  • Promote a collaborative environment that balances high-performance delivery with consultant well-being.
