About The Position

As the Principal Consultant, you will help organizations establish governance frameworks that enable trusted, scalable adoption of analytics, automation, and AI across the enterprise. This is a senior individual contributor role for a practitioner who excels at aligning business outcomes, organizational change, governance, and technology capabilities. You will partner with business leaders, analytics teams, data stakeholders, and IT organizations to design governance operating models that balance innovation with risk management while accelerating value realization. In addition to customer-facing delivery, you will lead the evolution of Alteryx’s Governance Practice by developing methodologies, governance frameworks, maturity assessments, and best practices that help customers scale analytics and AI responsibly. You will collaborate across Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Professional Services to strengthen Alteryx’s governance consulting capabilities and customer impact.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in consulting, enterprise transformation, governance, analytics, data management, AI enablement, or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing governance programs, operating models, Centers of Excellence (CoEs), or enterprise adoption strategies.
  • Experience working with analytics and business intelligence platforms (e.g., Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau, Looker) and an understanding of how governance enables trusted analytics.
  • Proven success leading cross-functional initiatives involving business, analytics, AI, compliance, and technology stakeholders.
  • Experience partnering with business, analytics, data, and technology leaders to drive governance, adoption, or organizational change initiatives.
  • Familiarity with Responsible AI principles, AI governance practices, data governance frameworks, or enterprise risk management approaches is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with large enterprise organizations is preferred.
  • Experience creating reusable methodologies, frameworks, or consulting assets is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

  • Design governance frameworks that enable organizations to scale analytics, automation, and AI while maintaining trust, accountability, compliance, and business agility.
  • Define governance operating models, roles, responsibilities, decision rights, and accountability structures across business, analytics, data, and technology teams.
  • Establish governance processes that balance centralized oversight with business-user self-service and innovation.
  • Advise customers on governance strategies that accelerate adoption, increase asset reuse, improve trust in analytics, and reduce operational risk.
  • Help customers establish and evolve Centers of Excellence (CoEs), governance councils, stewardship models, and champion networks that drive sustainable adoption and business value.
  • Advise customers on Responsible AI practices, including transparency, explainability, model oversight, risk management, human-in-the-loop processes, and AI policy development.
  • Develop governance approaches for generative AI, machine learning, AI-powered applications, and agentic workflows that align with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitate discussions around AI readiness, AI operating models, AI risk management, and organizational capabilities required to scale AI successfully.
  • Design frameworks for AI inventory management, usage monitoring, performance measurement, business impact tracking, and governance effectiveness.
  • Guide customers in establishing governance controls that enable innovation while ensuring appropriate oversight and accountability.
  • Enable business teams to safely leverage analytics, automation, and AI through scalable guardrails, standards, governance policies, and best practices.
  • Design content lifecycle, certification, stewardship, ownership, and asset management models that promote trust, discoverability, and reuse.
  • Partner with business leaders to define adoption strategies, governance KPIs, success metrics, and value realization frameworks.
  • Lead governance transformation initiatives that improve both user empowerment and organizational control.
  • Develop change management and stakeholder engagement approaches that drive governance adoption and organizational alignment.
  • Lead governance, operating model, and AI strategy workshops with business stakeholders, analytics leaders, platform owners, and technology teams.
  • Facilitate alignment across business, data, analytics, compliance, and IT stakeholders to establish scalable governance practices.
  • Assess organizational maturity and develop practical roadmaps for governance evolution, AI enablement, and self-service adoption.
  • Guide customers in defining governance structures, roles, responsibilities, and operating models that support business objectives.
  • Provide strategic recommendations that help customers accelerate adoption while managing operational, compliance, and organizational risks.
  • Present governance findings, maturity assessments, and recommendations to customer leadership teams and key stakeholders.
  • Author governance frameworks, maturity assessments, implementation playbooks, and reusable delivery assets.
  • Define and evolve Alteryx’s Governance Practice methodologies, delivery approaches, maturity models, and service offerings.
  • Create reusable governance accelerators, assessments, implementation playbooks, workshop materials, and delivery assets.
  • Establish best practices for analytics governance, automation governance, AI governance, and self-service enablement.
  • Mentor consultants, solution architects, and customer-facing teams on governance frameworks and customer engagement approaches.
  • Partner with Sales and Customer Success teams to support strategic opportunities and governance-related customer discussions.
  • Contribute to thought leadership through customer presentations, webinars, conference participation, internal enablement, and best-practice development.
  • Collaborate with Product and Strategy teams to provide customer feedback and influence governance-related capabilities and guidance.
