About The Position

Genentech is seeking a visionary, highly strategic, and technical Business Product Manager (Director-level) to join the Insights & Analytics product suite within the Forecasting pillar. This role involves translating complex pharmaceutical forecasting dynamics into a scalable, modern forecasting product and platform. The goal is to evolve the Commercial Forecasting ecosystem from a fragmented, semi-manual process into a unified, predictive, and data-driven forecasting product/platform that enhances transparency, accuracy, and modeling agility. The position will lead a cross-functional team including product activation, end-user champions, data science, AI/ML, and technology (RDT/IT) to bridge the gap between forecasting tools, process, strategy, technology, and forecasters.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Data Science, or another quantitative field.
8+ years of total professional experience.
At least 5 years dedicated to pharmaceutical analytics or business analytics product management across multiple therapeutic areas.
Proven experience in a Product Manager or Product Owner role, successfully guiding an analytical or digital product through its full lifecycle (ideation to launch and scaling).
Ability to design scalable product solutions that address common business challenges and serve the broader organization.
Strong domain expertise in pharmaceutical forecasting.
Deep understanding of pharma data across commercial, medical, sales, and access and how to utilize it to build a forecast.
Demonstrated success in aligning cross-functional stakeholders.
Professional maturity to push back on requests that misalign with corporate objectives.
Extensive experience working in an Agile environment.
Experience managing complex product backlogs.
Experience coordinating tightly with technical IT and Data engineering teams.
Exceptional presentation skills, with the ability to evangelize the product vision to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Highly collaborative and able to influence cross functionally to develop and evolve product roadmaps.

Nice To Haves

MBA, or an MS in Business Analytics, Data Science, or a related graduate-level qualification.
Experience working with AI (Claude, ChatGPT, etc.).
Proficiency with Jira.
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
Experience with product prototyping.
Experience with cloud-based data environments.
Deep knowledge of healthcare-specific data sets and the stringent compliance and privacy frameworks surrounding them.

Responsibilities

Define product vision, strategy, and roadmap for forecasting products.
Translate pharmaceutical and forecasting domain knowledge into scalable forecasting solutions for strategic investment decision-making.
Manage advanced data and analytics products through their full lifecycle: ideation, requirement definition, launch, scaling, and optimization.
Partner with Technical Product Managers, Data Leads, Data Scientists, and IT engineering to develop, deploy, and optimize analytical models, API service layers, and UI/UX capabilities.
Oversee end-to-end business process mapping, user feedback compilation, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) in partnership with business activation teams.
Establish agile operational standards, backlog management rigor, and reusable product templates.
Work closely with Forecasters, Finance partners, Data Science, RDT/IT, Field Analytics, and Digital Experience teams to deliver comprehensive forecasting tools.
Drive cross-functional consensus and evangelize the product’s strategic value proposition to executive stakeholders.
Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, finance stakeholders, and technical teams.
Champion a practice-based apprenticeship model, coaching and mentoring cross-functional product teams.
Ensure strict adherence to all laws, regulations, and policies governing Genentech's business activities.
