Our Data, Digital, & Analytics (DDA) team is at the heart of this mission, partnering with the Commercial, Medical, and Government Affairs (CMG) organization to turn data, analytics, and AI/ML into fast, high-impact decisions. The Insights & Analytics (I&A) Product Suite team builds scalable, enterprise-wide solutions that eliminate silos and give CMG teams a unified view of customers, actions, and outcomes—serving as a trusted advisor with a clear focus on measurable results. The I&A Product Suite team is organized across four pillars: 360 Insights, Forecasting, Targeting & Recommendation, and Measurement & Optimization. We are looking for a visionary, highly technical Business Product Manager (Director-level) to join our Insights & Analytics product suite within the 360 Insights pillar. In this role, you will define and execute the strategy for next-generation data and analytics platforms, building cohesive insight products that empower Commercial, Medical, Customer Engagement, and Market Access teams to make faster, smarter decisions. You will lead a cross-functional team spanning product activation, end-user champions, data science, AI/ML, and technology (RDT/IT) to bring these products to life.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Data Science, or another quantitative field.
  • 8+ years of total professional experience, with at least 5 years dedicated to pharmaceutical analytics or business analytics product management across multiple therapeutic areas.
  • Proven experience in a Product Manager or Product Owner role, successfully guiding an analytical or digital product through its full lifecycle (from ideation to launch and scaling).
  • Strong domain expertise in pharmaceutical insights and analytics. Deep understanding of pharma data across commercial, medical, sales, and access. Ability to design scalable product solutions that address common business challenges and serve the broader organization.
  • Demonstrated success in aligning cross-functional stakeholders, with the professional maturity to push back on requests that misalign with corporate objectives.
  • Extensive experience working in an Agile environment, managing complex product backlogs, and coordinating tightly with technical IT and Data engineering teams.
  • Exceptional presentation skills, with the ability to evangelize the product vision to both technical and non-technical audiences. Highly collaborative approach to enabling the product roadmap.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA, or an MS in Business Analytics, Data Science, or a related graduate-level qualification.
  • Proficiency with Jira, data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), product prototyping, and cloud-based data environments.
  • Deep knowledge of healthcare-specific data sets and the stringent compliance and privacy frameworks surrounding them.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the 360 Insights product suite.
  • Translate deep pharmaceutical domain knowledge—spanning commercial, medical, sales, and access—into scalable insights and analytics solutions.
  • Drive measurable business impact across all channels, including sales, marketing, digital, and traditional omnichannel touchpoints.
  • Partner with Activation teams, the Business Product Owner, and Executive Directors to develop product roadmaps that prioritize user experience, core features, timelines, and dependencies.
  • Collaborate with Technical Product Managers to drive the development and continuous improvement of unified customer insight platforms, data integrations, and analytics features.
  • Ensure all products align with the overarching enterprise vision, delivering both business value and technical performance.
  • Oversee the product lifecycle for complex hybrid architectures, large-scale data integrations, advanced API service layers, and intuitive UI/UX designs.
  • Work closely with Data Science, RDT/IT, Field Analytics, and Digital Experience teams to deliver comprehensive 360-degree customer insight capabilities.
  • Coordinate shared ownership and execution across sales, marketing, digital, and traditional channels.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring delivery consistently aligns with user needs and organizational priorities.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all laws, regulations, and policies governing Genentech's business activities, particularly regarding commercial and medical data firewalls.
