Principal Business Analyst
About The Position
Partner with business stakeholders as the liaison between functional business teams and technology teams to develop technical solutions that improve business processes, increase operational efficiency, and support continuous improvement across enterprise business functions. The role requires strong knowledge of JDE ERP modules and related value-stream processes, including Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Plan-to-Produce, and Record-to-Report. DSI experience is highly preferred. The analyst optimizes business processes and systems for assigned functional areas, applies enterprise software solutions and best practices, and works with stakeholders and technical teams to define business needs and deliver solutions. The role covers requirements gathering, process mapping, solution evaluation, documentation, testing, and production support. It also requires analyzing data, managing multiple tasks and priorities, and working across enterprise platforms and applications. The position encourages continued learning through training and certifications and calls for knowledge of ITIL, Agile methodologies, and the SDLC.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and four or more years of experience in the field or a related area.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Visio, Excel, data analysis, ITIL, and business analysis practices.
- Strong communication, listening, critical-thinking, adaptability, relationship-building, organization, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong knowledge and experience with JDE ERP modules and key value-stream processes, including Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Plan-to-Produce, and Record-to-Report.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize competing work, and meet project deadlines.
- Ability to work across enterprise platforms and applications.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with DSI.
- Experience supporting discrete manufacturing environments.
- Experience with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne (JDE); experience with SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or Infor is also applicable.
- Experience with SQL and/or other relational database tools.
- Strong understanding of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Experience facilitating requirements-gathering sessions and developing BRDs, Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs), and testing plans.
- Ability to work with technical resources to translate functional business requirements into technical requirements.
- Experience with current-state and future-state process mapping.
- Ability to work with business stakeholders to evaluate ROI, prioritize initiatives, and support project roadmap planning.
- Business Analyst and JDE-related certifications are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Act as a liaison between IT and the business to optimize processes and systems for assigned functional areas.
- Use enterprise software solutions to optimize business processes and promote best practices across core business segments.
- Facilitate requirements-gathering sessions with stakeholders and develop Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and functional requirements.
- Consult with business stakeholders to define needs and develop technical solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Partner with technical resources to translate functional business requirements into technical requirements and solution designs.
- Map current-state and future-state processes to identify process improvement and business transformation opportunities.
- Help stakeholders evaluate solution options, business value, and ROI, and prioritize enhancement requests and project initiatives.
- Create functional and technical specifications; track requirements; define test scenarios; maintain documentation; and assist with test plans, strategies, and scripts.
- Collaborate with project managers and technical teams on testing, support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and validate solutions against business requirements.
- Maintain data models, data maps, process documentation, and knowledge base articles, and support production teams as needed.
- Analyze data to provide actionable insights that improve business processes and outcomes.
- Organize and prioritize multiple tasks to deliver projects on time and meet deadlines.
- Pursue training and certifications on enterprise platforms and technologies that benefit team members.
- Apply knowledge of ITIL, Agile methodologies, and the SDLC, and expand that knowledge through training and mentorship.
