Principal Algorithm & Signal Processing Engineer

STR•Dayton, OH
•$206,000 - $284,000

About The Position

The Electronic Warfare and Novel Capabilities Group (EWNC) develops advanced signal-processing algorithms and prototype systems for next-generation radar and electronic warfare technologies. The group collaborates with engineers across STR, academic researchers, industry partners, and customers to address RF sensing and counter-sensing challenges, translating advanced research into practical prototype capabilities. The Principal Engineer develops state-of-the-art algorithms for RF sensing, sensor decision-making, and autonomous electronic warfare. Areas of interest include signal detection and classification, electronic support measures, electronic attack and protection, cognitive electronic warfare, and advanced RF sensing. The role leads projects and proposal efforts, advises multidisciplinary teams across STR campuses, partners with customers to understand mission needs, and develops technical approaches, proposal strategies, and program plans. This position is ideally suited to a Principal Engineer, while applicants whose qualifications closely align with the requirements may be considered for opportunities at multiple experience levels. Opportunities are in Woburn, Massachusetts, and Dayton, Ohio. STR is a technology company focused on advanced research and development for defense, intelligence, and national security. The company describes its workplace as a collaborative learning environment that supports technical understanding and recognizes team contributions. The position requires the ability to obtain a security clearance, for which U.S. citizenship is required by the U.S. Government.
