About The Position

Responsible for the development and execution of major pricing and costing strategies. Provide technical and regulatory expertise in the development and presentation of major rate design proposals and regulatory filings. Performs financial and market analysis. Oversee the work of other pricing analysts. Conduct cost of service studies used in general rate cases, miscellaneous filings, and to meet the needs of Xcel's business units to ensure accurate and timely cost information. Develop new rate design proposals or modifications to existing rate structures to ensure maintenance of effective price structures, increased options available to customers for buying energy form Xcel, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Serve as a company witness in regulatory proceedings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or related area (6 years experience in a related area may substitute for the degree)
  • 5 years experience in regulatory pricing
  • General knowledge of competitive energy markets and retail energy service provider strategies and operations
  • Advanced computer modeling skills

Responsibilities

  • Development and execution of pricing strategies.
  • Lead project teams to develop and prepare rate design proposals and regulatory filings.
  • Integrate with managers, sales, product developers and regulatory departments to develop and execute pricing plans and pricing products.
  • Leads analysis of financial and market data to solve complex pricing problems.
  • Primary participant in creating competitive pricing models.
  • Develop pricing solutions and profitability analysis.
  • Develop and analyze risk management strategies
