Preventive Maintenance Technician
About The Position
U-Haul is hiring a Preventive Maintenance Technician to maintain its fleet of Ford and GMC trucks and trailers. The technician uses U-Haul’s proprietary technology to assess and care for field vehicles. U-Haul provides tools and support, along with opportunities to learn from experienced team members and grow through its Technician Training Program, which includes Ford, GMC, and U-Haul classes. Tools are provided for preventive maintenance technicians. The work involves manual labor and requires safe, alert work practices. Protective clothing or gear may be required. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship. The position is located at 5110 Frontage Rd NW, Auburn, Washington.
Requirements
- Driver’s license.
- Ability to work as part of a team and individually.
- Basic mechanical aptitude.
- Basic computer skills.
- Regular attendance.
- Ability to work safely and remain alert.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, assisted or unassisted.
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work and must not require employer sponsorship.
Nice To Haves
- Basic mechanical repair experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Secure trucks on lifts and ramps.
- Lubricate suspensions, perform oil changes, and replace minor parts.
- Perform tire and brake maintenance.
- Occasionally road-test vehicles.
- Use a proprietary electronic pre-inspection checklist.
- Willingly assist in additional areas as necessary, following the directives and guidance of a supervisor.
