Preventative Maintenance Technician
About The Position
The Preventative Maintenance Technician performs preventative maintenance on commercial kitchen cooking, refrigeration, and HVAC equipment. The role involves completing paperwork, communicating repair status updates, using appropriate tools, maintaining required truck stock, and keeping the service vehicle, tools, and uniforms in accordance with company standards and safety requirements. The position works Monday through Thursday from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. It includes extensive nightly travel to work sites, with possible weekend and daily assignments. The work may involve exposure to hot fryer grease and high temperatures in kitchens or on rooftops, as well as repeated bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, and climbing ladders. The technician must regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds, frequently handle up to 100 pounds, and occasionally handle more than 100 pounds with assistance.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver's license and a driving record that meets the company's safety standards.
- Satisfactory background check and drug screening required.
- Must be able to work nights and weekends as needed.
- Ability to work independently.
- Proper certifications or licensing as required by the state.
- High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good driving record.
Nice To Haves
- Automotive, electrical, installation, or mechanical background or experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on commercial kitchen cooking, refrigeration, and HVAC equipment.
- Complete paperwork, including parts orders, work orders, and time sheets, in a timely manner.
- Communicate repair status updates to customers and the branch office.
- Use appropriate repair tools, including hand tools and power tools.
- Audit truck stock to ensure required parts are stocked.
- Maintain the service vehicle, tools, and uniforms according to company standards and safety requirements.
