About The Position

The Preventative Maintenance Technician performs scheduled preventive maintenance on mechanical systems, equipment, and components; repairs equipment and facilities as needed; and supports outsourced repairs at the Allen and Plano locations. The role maintains equipment and system logs, handles parts and inventory, and helps other personnel identify equipment problems through visual and sound inspections. The position reports to the Chief Engineer.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Completion of trade school training in preventive maintenance and troubleshooting for tableting presses.
Completion of trade school training in preventive maintenance and troubleshooting for automatic or semi-automatic encapsulation machines.
Completion of trade school training in preventive maintenance and troubleshooting for auger filler machines.
Completion of trade school training in preventive maintenance and troubleshooting for ribbon blenders and V-blenders.
Completion of trade school training in HVAC.
Completion of trade school training in pneumatic controls.

Responsibilities

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance services on mechanical systems, equipment, and components.
Repair equipment as needed.
Perform facility repairs as needed.
Meet with vendors and contractors at the Allen and Plano locations for outsourced repairs.
Maintain preventive maintenance logs for equipment and systems.
Pick up parts from vendors and contractors.
Perform welding.
Replace worn components before mechanical breakdowns occur.
Maintain and periodically inventory parts, materials, and components.
Cross-train custodial and maintenance personnel in visual and sound inspection of equipment to support timely reporting of system problems.
Perform other duties as requested.
