About The Position

This position involves evaluating and taking appropriate action to maintain a safe work environment with established standards and guidelines. The role requires inspecting work areas for unsafe acts/conditions, effective communication, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment. Responsibilities include sweeping, cleaning duties, and performing all duties in accordance with safety rules and procedures. The technician will operate and maintain manual lathe and milling machines, review specifications, take measurements, plan work sequences, monitor output for consistency, and perform routine machine maintenance and repair.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Trade certificate
  • Minimum of 2 years of machinist work experience
  • Experience in using and maintaining manual lathe and milling machine
  • Ability to use precision tools (e.g., calipers and indicators) to take accurate measurements
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals
  • Ability to follow direction
  • Mathematical skills and analytical abilities
  • Must be able to lift to 50 pounds continuously throughout the shift
  • Work involves lifting, bending, reaching, and twisting
  • Strong commitment to safety

Responsibilities

  • Monitor output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor/major damages.
