Requirements

  • Relevant engineering qualification (Apprenticeship, HNC/HND, NVQ Level 3 or degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering).
  • Proven experience in maintenance engineering within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Hands‑on expertise in mechanical and electrical systems, including PLCs.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, schematics and machine documentation.
  • Comfortable using maintenance tools, diagnostic equipment, and IT systems (including Microsoft Office and ideally SAP PM).
  • Organised, detail‑oriented and able to manage priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Flexible and reliable, willing to work shifts, respond to emergencies and operate in hands‑on conditions.
  • Proactive and solution‑oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot faults across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, ensuring timely and effective repairs.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on recurring issues and implement sustainable solutions to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental standards, carrying out regular inspections and maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, working closely with production and engineering teams to optimise processes and performance.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, schedules and documentation, while providing technical support and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to meet operational goals.
