About The Position

The Maintenance I position is responsible for performing basic preventative maintenance on equipment, buildings, and grounds at the MCBH facility. This role requires basic skills in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC to maintain the facility. The position also involves performing regular scheduled preventive maintenance checks, assessing the general condition of facilities, and making recommendations for improvements or repairs. Record keeping for compliance with regulatory agencies is also a key responsibility. The employee must maintain annual tuberculosis screening, Hepatitis B, CPI, and other MCBH annual requirements, and follow all policies and procedures affecting the Environment of Care. Attendance at regularly scheduled in-service training is required. This individual employee may accept other reasonable assignments as necessary for the efficient operation of assigned programs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years’ experience working in maintenance or equivalent experience.
• Ability to use an assortment of hand tools, power tools, and other equipment.
• Ability to follow oral and/or written instructions.
• Ability to work under various working conditions (i.e., bend, stoop, lift, and stand for eight hours).
• Requires ability to perform heavy lifting (at least 80 lbs.) when necessary.
• Must have a valid Arkansas driver’s license and be insurable.
• Must be physically capable to receive verbal and written directions.
• Must be physically capable of sitting and standing for several hours at a time.
• Must have good auditory, visual, and olfactory ability.
• Ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• Must be able to maintain effective audio, visual discrimination and perception needed for making observations, communicating with others, reading and writing, and operating office equipment and other treatment equipment.
• Must be able to use a telephone to communicate verbally and a computer to communicate through written means, to review information and enter/retrieve data, to see and read characters on a computer screen, chart, or other treatment items.
• Must be willing and able to work with all patients of Methodist Family Health.
• Flu vaccination is mandatory and required for all positions (subject only to qualified exemptions).

Responsibilities

• Perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment, buildings, and grounds at the MCBH facility.

• Perform basic record keeping for compliance with the Department of Health, TJC, and other regulatory agencies.
• Perform regular scheduled preventive maintenance checks.
• Assess the general condition of MCBH facilities and make recommendations for improvements or repairs.
• Maintain annual tuberculosis screening, Hepatitis B, CPI, and all other MCBH annual requirements.
• Follow all policies and procedures that affect the Environment of Care.
• Attend regularly scheduled in-service training.
• Accept other reasonable assignments as necessary for the efficient operation of assigned programs.
