About The Position

Press Support prepares Flexo presses for efficient workflow by staging materials and tooling and assisting with press make-ready, primarily for printing presses. The role also supports pressroom quality control and may perform additional activities as directed by a supervisor, including operating a machine or assisting with maintenance needs.

Requirements

Ability to follow instructions.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent mechanical skills.
Punctual and reliable.
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 2 years of manufacturing or warehouse experience.
Able to work with a manual and electric pallet jack.
Able to bend, twist, and kneel.
Able to lift up to 40 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Experience in the Narrow Web Printing Industry.
Vocational or technical school training.
Ability to use a forklift.
Previous related experience.

Responsibilities

Stage raw material, ink, and tooling at each Flexo press.
Assist press operators to complete the make-ready process efficiently.
Return leftover materials and tooling to their proper locations.
Maintain raw materials using the FIFO procedure.
Coordinate with shipping and receiving for inventory control.
Keep production tooling organized, including dies, perfs, mags, print cylinders, and anilox inventory.
Maintain pressroom cleanliness and organization.
Assist with finishing needs as directed by a supervisor.
Mount plates.
Mix ink; the role is responsible for the Ink Technician function.
Work with ink vendors and train press operators in good ink management techniques.
Work with maintenance to ensure all components work properly.
Perform other activities as directed by a supervisor, which may include running a machine or assisting with maintenance needs.
