About The Position
Keystone Powdered Metal Company is hiring an experienced, full-time Press Operator for its Cherryville, North Carolina location. The position reports to the Production Supervisor and operates primary molding equipment, making adjustments as needed to ensure product quality. The operator follows applicable procedures, records product and process information, uses measuring equipment to monitor control conditions, and communicates job-related information with coworkers, supervisors, and other functional areas. Reliable, consistent attendance is an essential function of the role.
Requirements
- Able to read and understand procedures, process sheets, and similar documentation.
- Able to perform basic mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Understand decimals, fractions, percentages, and averages.
- Able to write legible sentences.
- Able to operate and adjust equipment properly.
- Able to use measuring equipment correctly and accurately interpret results.
- Understand and apply SPC fundamentals.
- Demonstrate satisfactory communication, cooperative relationships, and participation in continuous improvement.
- Have thorough knowledge of applicable process documentation.
- Demonstrate positive team behaviors.
- Reliable, consistent attendance.
Responsibilities
- Operate primary operations equipment for molding.
- Operate equipment safely and efficiently, making adjustments to ensure product quality.
- Know and follow procedures applicable to the job classification.
- Legibly record and maintain applicable product and process information.
- Use measuring equipment and interpret the information obtained to maintain control conditions.
- Provide active input toward maintaining control conditions.
- Communicate job-related information effectively to coworkers, supervisors, service areas, and others who need to know.
- Maintain cooperative relationships with other functional areas.
- Maintain reliable and consistent attendance.
- Assist in writing new procedures or revising existing procedures.
- Participate in training others and assist with their appraisal.
- Perform other tasks as requested.
