About The Position

The Press Brake Programmer/Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC press brake equipment to bend, form, and fabricate metal components according to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. This position plays a critical role in ensuring products are manufactured safely, accurately, and efficiently while meeting customer requirements and production schedules.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of press brake operations experience in a metal manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of basic troubleshooting
  • Ability to safely perform work in varying work conditions
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions
  • Effective problem-solving skills/detailed oriented/sense of urgency
  • Ability to read blueprints and use measurement devices such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and bore gauges
  • Moderate math skills (fractions, decimals, metric conversion)
  • Working knowledge of different metal materials
  • Forklift certified
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to follow hoist safety protocols
  • Self-motivated, takes initiative
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs. on a consistent basis
  • Ability to stand for up to 10 hours
  • Excellent hand/eye coordination
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use power tools
  • Good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina
  • Consistently wear personal protective equipment
  • Ability to work in production facility with fluctuating temperatures and humidity levels

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate Accurpress CNC press brake machine to bend and form sheet metal and plate materials.
  • Must follow all safety policies and procedures, including lockout/Tag out
  • Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work orders, and production schedules.
  • Select appropriate tooling, dies, and machine settings for each job.
  • Ability to qualify first part approval for inspection and verify dimensions using precision measuring instruments.
  • Monitor machine performance and adjust as needed to maintain product quality.
  • Conduct routine quality checks throughout production runs.
  • Load, unload, and handle materials safely usings forklifts, cranes, or other material handling equipment as required.
  • Identify and report equipment malfunctions, quality concerns, and safety hazards.
  • Perform basic machine maintenance, cleaning and preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Understand and accurately report daily production quantities.
  • Consistent and accurate counts of materials and products
  • Ability to setup workstations according to safety standards to perform maximum efficiency
  • Promote “safety first” mindset across production floor and ensure staff are following safety procedures/guidelines
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and maintain all equipment according to established procedures
  • Perform complete machine set ups without assistance
  • Maintain a positive attitude with customers, clients, co-workers, and management
  • May assist with running multiple CNC machines as needed
