Press Assistant Third Shift Full Time
About The Position
This is a Third Shift Full Time position. The Press Assistant ensures paper or raw materials (inks, glues, etc.) are loaded into feeders, hoppers, bins, etc. to supply a constant flow of materials while the equipment is running. They make adjustments to equipment such as the feeder mechanism based on the size of the paper and deliver equipment components such as plates or spray heads to the equipment for installation. The role also involves recycling old/discarded plates, providing basic assistance as needed to make-ready the equipment for operation, and assisting with retrieving plates, hanging plates, and recycling/storing plates and other tasks associated with make-ready of the plates.
Requirements
- Requires basic knowledge of presswork procedures and materials learned through on the job training
- Ability to follow instructions to assist in press set up, operation and maintenance
- Able to operate hand carts, pallet jacks, stackers, and hydraulic feed mechanisms
