Press Assistant Third Shift Full Time
About The Position
This is a Third Shift Full Time position. The Press Assistant is responsible for ensuring a constant flow of materials to the equipment by loading paper or raw materials (inks, glues, etc.) into feeders, hoppers, bins, etc. while the equipment is running. The role involves making adjustments to equipment based on paper size, delivering equipment components like plates or spray heads, and recycling old/discarded plates. Additionally, the Press Assistant provides basic assistance with equipment make-ready, retrieves, hangs, recycles, and stores plates, and performs other tasks associated with plate make-ready.
Requirements
- Requires basic knowledge of presswork procedures and materials learned through on the job training
- Ability to follow instructions to assist in press set up, operation and maintenance
- Able to operate hand carts, pallet jacks, stackers, and hydraulic feed mechanisms

Responsibilities
- Ensure paper or raw materials (inks, glues, etc.) are loaded into feeders, hoppers, bins, etc. to supply a constant flow of materials while the equipment is running
- Make adjustments to equipment such as feeder mechanism based on the size of the paper
- Deliver equipment components such as plates or spray heads to the equipment for installation
- Recycle old/discarded plates
- Provide basic assistance as needed to make-ready the equipment for operation
- Assist with retrieving plates, hanging plates and recycling/storing plates and other tasks associated with make-ready of the plates
