About The Position

This position is for a full-time Mechanical Technician working the second or third shift. The role involves a variety of responsibilities focused on facility maintenance, operational support, and adherence to organizational policies and regulations.

Requirements

  • Ability to complete non-optional requirements within established time frames (Educode, Annual health screening, CPR, Education and training sessions like Lockout/tag out, confined spaces).
  • Ability to attend required staff meetings with a 90% attendance rate.
  • Ability to make sound and reasonable decisions, considering all factors and anticipating problems.
  • Ability to report all equipment and supplies used, and not abuse equipment.
  • Ability to put tools and supplies back in proper storage space.
  • Ability to use proper tools for the job.
  • Ability to clean tools and equipment after job completion or at the end of the workday.
  • Ability to plan ahead for necessary supplies and tools.
  • Ability to function in more than one task and adjust to varying jobs.

  • Full understanding of the organization’s Life Safety, Safety, and Infection Control policies and procedures.
  • Full understanding of the codes and regulations affecting job responsibilities (i.e., medical gas systems codes, life safety codes, air quality regulations, arc flash codes, electrical codes, plumbing codes, DHEC regulations, etc).
  • Ability to develop maintenance skills and knowledge by attending educational programs and training.
  • Proper knowledge of codes and regulations regarding usage and disposal of chemicals used.
  • Knowledgeable and efficient in maintaining all equipment and areas of responsibility.
  • Ability to complete 95% to 100% of competencies.
  • Ability to maintain certifications (ie. backflow, refrigerant, electrical etc).
  • Ability to complete assigned PM work orders.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to manage assignments if workload is increased.
  • Ability to ensure work is performed correctly the first time.
  • Ability to ensure work is completed such that it shall comply with required codes or standards.
  • Ability to maintain work area/equipment properly and keep it clean.
  • Ability to fill out work requests correctly and accurately (start and finished times, locations, materials, labor comments).
  • Ability to complete PM workorders within the established time periods and turn them in on time.
  • Ability to recognize work to be done and pursue to completion.
  • Ability to seek additional work when routines are completed.
  • Ability to pursue additional involvement beyond the completion of extra and routine tasks.

Responsibilities
