About The Position

Re:Build Thermoplastic Composites is a business unit within Re:Build Manufacturing, focused on leveraging innovative manufacturing processes to create cost-effective, complex parts from thermoplastic composites. These composites offer advantages in cost, weight, durability, and performance, aiming to displace more expensive thermoset composite or metallic parts across various applications. Currently, the business has operations in Denver, CO, and Cleveland, OH, with a dedicated R&D function, generating approximately $10MM in annual revenue. The company aims to grow this business to $100MM+ by identifying new market opportunities, codifying processes, developing reference designs, overseeing operational teams, and engaging large target markets. Re:Build Manufacturing, LLC is an expanding group of industrial and engineering businesses dedicated to revitalizing US manufacturing through enabling technologies, operational excellence, and strategic M&A. The company applies expertise in engineering, lean continuous improvement, and technology to enhance its member companies' performance. Re:Build offers a range of services, including product and systems design, automation, fabrication, assembly, and large-volume contract manufacturing, serving diverse industries such as aerospace, defense, mobility, healthcare, pharma, biotech, clean tech, chemicals, energy, lifestyle, food production, and industrial equipment. The President will be an experienced leader tasked with commercializing manufacturing offerings and bringing new manufacturing technologies to market. This involves identifying market opportunities, defining value propositions, directing R&D efforts, and coordinating commercial, engineering, and manufacturing teams. Based in Denver, CO, and reporting to the CEO, the President will drive significant growth in scale, product and customer mix, facilities footprint, and team size. The ideal candidate will have experience leading the adoption of new manufacturing processes, shaping market strategies, and leading R&D, technical development, engineering, and production teams to build strong customer engagements. They must possess significant P&L leadership experience, strong business acumen, an analytical and creative problem-solving approach, a continuous improvement mindset, and excellent coaching and motivational skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Engineering, Operations, or related field required.
  • Track record as a transformational leader – successfully shaping strategy and leveraging market insights, technology and process development, targeted investments, and customer engagements to drive growth.
  • 10 years of progressive leadership in manufacturing industries.
  • Prior P&L ownership, with strong strategic and financial acumen and demonstrated ability to drive growth through market understanding, commercial engagement, new product adoption, and operational excellence.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams, identifying and entering new markets, driving top-line growth, and scaling organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative environment, successfully building relationships and leveraging shared resources and capabilities to move the business forward.
  • Strong market intelligence, analytical, financial modeling, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • High emotional intelligence and strong communication skills, with the ability to influence, foster trust, coach leaders, and cultivate a culture of accountability.
  • Ability to lead with clarity in fast-paced, highly technical, and entrepreneurial environments.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the expansion of Re:Build’s thermoplastic composites business in partnership with Re:Build functional teams by identifying target adoption opportunities, developing demonstration products and supporting processes, then executing commercial strategies to demonstrate capability and expand our customer base with lasting engagements.
  • Driven by targeted market opportunities, develop investment strategies to build capabilities, demonstrate market applicability, and support scaling of operations.
  • Shape and implement business expansion strategies and plans for both the short and long term to grow the business by 10x to $100MM and beyond.
  • Manage the P&L.
  • Develop budgets, financial plans, and performance metrics, giving regular updates on progress and critical path items.
  • Own ongoing business-wide performance to drive improvement in revenue, operating performance, and financial margins.
  • Lead, manage, and develop a high-performing business team with a strong, positive operating culture.
  • Develop and implement effective communication and engagement strategies to ensure teams are informed, aligned, and motivated to accomplish objectives.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence aligned with the Principles of The Re:Build Way.
