About The Position

This role involves two distinct positions: Lead Teacher and Assistant Teacher, both focused on early childhood education within a preschool setting. Lead Teachers are responsible for designing and implementing the P.L.A.N. curriculum, fostering student development, and managing the classroom environment. Assistant Teachers provide crucial support to Lead Teachers, help maintain a safe and nurturing atmosphere, and assist with daily student needs. Both roles emphasize building positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues, and require reliability and strong communication skills.

Requirements

Lead Teacher: 3–5 years of relevant classroom experience.
Assistant Teacher: Preschool experience of 1–3 years.
A bachelor's degree is required (preferably in the field of education) for Lead Teachers.
MSDE 90hr Preschool Certificate or CDA Certification with Preschool Endorsement (minimum) for both roles.
Solid grasp of child development principles and instructional strategies for Lead Teachers.
Working knowledge of MSDE regulations for Lead Teachers.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for Lead Teachers.
Good communication skills for Assistant Teachers.
Reliability you could set a clock to for Lead Teachers.
Reliability and punctuality you take seriously for Assistant Teachers.
A warm, friendly, unflappable demeanor is a must for Lead Teachers.
A calm, friendly presence for Assistant Teachers.
All applicants must pass a state and federal background check.
Applicants for federal center campuses must also receive GSA security clearance.

Responsibilities

Plan and lead daily activities using the P.L.A.N. curriculum, tailored to specific age groups (Twos or PreK).
Build strong, trusting bonds with students and their families.
Own classroom management, creating a consistent, positive environment for children and staff.
Support each child's physical, social-emotional, and developmental growth.
Communicate clearly and warmly with families, colleagues, and the community.
Support the Lead Teacher in implementing the P.L.A.N. curriculum.
Help build a safe, nurturing space where children feel secure and loved.
Assist wherever needed, including floating between classrooms.
Support each child's day-to-day needs with patience and care.
Bring positive energy to the team, students, and families.
