About The Position

Preschool Substitute Teachers step into classrooms when teachers are absent, helping maintain established daily routines and support planned learning activities. They provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where young children feel supported and cared for. The role includes connecting with young learners, implementing lesson plans, communicating with parents and guardians, and collaborating with co-teachers and school staff. Substitute teachers also assist children with meals, snacks, rest periods, and routine personal care, including toileting and diaper changing as needed. They keep the classroom clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations and licensing guidelines, and perform other related classroom and school support duties as assigned.

This is an on-call position located at 155 Washington Boulevard, Fremont, CA 94539. The pay range is $23.00–$27.00.

Requirements

• Complete 12 semester or 18 quarter units in early childhood education, including courses covering early child development; child, family, and community; and program/curriculum, or hold a bachelor's degree in early child development.
• Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with young children.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
