About The Position

Regina Caeli Academy is seeking a part-time Preschool Assistant for its Austin, Texas Center. The assistant supports a classical and Catholic preschool classroom. No teaching certification or formal teaching experience is required; training, curriculum, and grading guidelines are provided. Tutors receive training in instruction and classroom management according to RCA standards and must complete mandatory training before working at the Center.

The academy is a national classical homeschool organization in the Catholic tradition that offers tutoring in a Socratic classroom setting on Mondays and Thursdays. The position is hourly and requires 13 hours per week, with scheduled hours from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on those days. The assistant must prepare for classes at home and arrive ready to teach in a highly structured environment. Childcare/nursery is provided. No additional vacation days are given, though accommodations are made for sick days as needed.

Applicants must be able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church and demonstrate a deep love for the Catholic faith, living it day to day and having received the sacraments appropriate to their state in life. All staff must complete a clear background check and RCA Safe Child training before teaching at the academy.

Requirements

• Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds frequently.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
• Must be willing to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church and have a deep love for the Catholic faith.
• Must be living the Catholic faith day to day, including having received the sacraments appropriate to their state in life.
• Must complete mandatory training before working at the Center.
• Must pass a clear background check and complete RCA Safe Child training before teaching.
• Strong communication skills, organization, and timeliness.
• A traditional view of the student/teacher relationship.
• Must be willing to prepare for classes at home.

Nice To Haves

• Standard computer skills, ideally with Google Suite or an equivalent.
• Experience homeschooling or working with homeschool children, ministry in a Catholic parish, teaching Religious Education or Catechism classes, teaching one's own children, or teaching in a classical or private school.
