Preschool Assistant Teacher
About The Position
Cabrillo Montessori is seeking a caring, energetic, and dependable Preschool Assistant Teacher for their Yellowstone Primary Community, which serves children ages 3-6. The school focuses on creating a nurturing, hands-on learning environment that encourages exploration, confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning. The Montessori approach is used to foster independence, creativity, problem-solving, and social connections, respecting each child's individual pace of development. The Assistant Teacher will collaborate with the Lead Guide and teaching team to support daily classroom activities, student development, and the overall classroom experience.
Requirements
- Experience or a strong desire to work with preschool-aged children.
- Warmth, patience, energy, and enthusiasm for the classroom.
- Enjoyment of working collaboratively as part of a supportive teaching team.
- Dependability, flexibility, and commitment to creating a positive experience for children.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Interest in learning about Montessori education and child development.
- Eagerness to grow professionally and explore opportunities for Montessori certification and future leadership roles.

Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with the Lead Guide and teaching team to support daily classroom activities and Montessori learning experiences.
- Assist with individual and small-group learning activities that encourage independence, curiosity, and confidence.
- Supervise and support children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, transitions, and daily routines.
- Encourage positive behavior, emotional development, problem-solving, and respectful interactions.
- Help prepare classroom materials and maintain a beautiful, organized, and welcoming learning environment.
- Support engaging hands-on activities such as gardening, cooking, art, science, STEM, and practical life experiences.
- Build warm, positive relationships with children, families, and fellow educators.
- Help create a safe, nurturing, and joyful classroom community where every child can thrive.
