Presales Solutions Architect - Enterprise Networking

SHI International Corp.•US - TX - Home Office, TX
•$180,000 - $250,000•Remote

About The Position

The Presales Solutions Architect – Enterprise Networking at SHI International is responsible for being SHI's Subject Matter Expert across the enterprise networking domain. The foundation of this role is core networking – routing and switching, campus LAN architecture, and WAN and SD-WAN design – with working breadth across enterprise wireless, network access control and segmentation, network management and observability, and network automation. We are looking for depth in core networking first. Candidates who bring strong routing, switching, and WAN architecture experience and can speak credibly to the adjacent domains are encouraged to apply, even if their hands-on depth is uneven across every area listed below. In this role, you will split your time between presales client engagements and internal practice development. On the presales side, you'll take a consultative approach, leading technical discovery sessions with clients to assess their network infrastructure maturity, designing target-state enterprise network architectures, and delivering compelling demos, POCs, and technical presentations. On the internal side, you'll build reusable collateral such as reference architectures, battle cards, and enablement content; evaluate and qualify new vendor partnerships; and conduct training sessions that keep our engineering and sales teams current on emerging network technologies, platform capabilities, and best practices. Your credibility and technical depth will make you a trusted advisor to both SHI's most strategic customers and our internal stakeholders, driving meaningful network outcomes and revenue growth across the Networking practice. This position is a remote position with Home Office setup as determined by SHI management.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in cloud architecture (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
  • Solid understanding of microservices, APIs, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Expertise in solution design across enterprise systems, integration platforms, and data layers.
  • Strong background in system security, data privacy, and compliance.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, business-oriented language.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation tools, and infrastructure-as-code frameworks.
  • Proficient in software development methodologies (Agile, DevOps).
  • Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in network engineering, enterprise network architecture, or infrastructure engineering roles, including hands-on routing, switching, and campus or WAN design and implementation
  • Demonstrated experience in presales, solutions architecture, or technical consulting within the networking or infrastructure domain
  • Experience presenting to customers, internal teams, or industry professional groups on networking topics
  • Exposure to at least two of the following adjacent areas: enterprise wireless, SD-WAN, network access control and segmentation, or network automation

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates who bring strong routing, switching, and WAN architecture experience and can speak credibly to the adjacent domains are encouraged to apply, even if their hands-on depth is uneven across every area listed below.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver product demonstrations, proof-of-concepts (POCs), and technical presentations focused on enterprise networking solutions including campus routing and switching, enterprise wireless, SD-WAN and WAN edge, and network management and automation platforms
  • Lead technical discovery sessions to assess clients' network infrastructure maturity across campus, branch, wireless, WAN, and network operations capabilities
  • Translate complex networking concepts – such as dynamic routing design, Layer 2/Layer 3 segmentation, RF design and spectrum planning, application-aware routing, and QoS policy – into business-relevant value propositions for both technical and executive audiences
  • Design and present target-state enterprise network architectures covering campus LAN, wireless, branch and WAN/SD-WAN, high availability, network access control and segmentation, and integration with broader infrastructure stacks (security, cloud, data center, collaboration)
  • Support wireless engagements by leading discovery, interpreting predictive and validation survey output, framing high-density and IoT design considerations, and engaging specialist resources where deep RF design is required
  • Develop and maintain internal practice collateral including reference architectures, battle cards, competitive analyses, technical briefs, and vendor evaluation frameworks
  • Evaluate and qualify new vendor technologies and product capabilities; make recommendations on partner adoption, platform consolidation, and legacy solution retirement
  • Conduct internal enablement sessions for engineering and sales teams on emerging network technologies, product updates, use cases, and enterprise networking best practices
  • Drive revenue growth within the presales team by identifying new networking opportunities and optimizing service offerings
  • Collaborate with SHI stakeholder partner teams to create synergistic networking service solutions that integrate across SHI's broader portfolio
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and partners, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention through product briefings, demonstrations, and knowledge transfer
  • Stay current with new networking technologies, protocols, and industry developments; track evolving architectures such as intent-based networking, cloud-managed networking, network-as-a-service, and private cellular to inform architectural recommendations
  • Contribute to practice development by identifying areas for growth, leading innovation initiatives, and creating and maintaining practice standards to ensure high-quality service delivery
