About The Position

Phelan Family Brands, a family-owned and locally operated restaurant group, is seeking a Prep team member. The primary responsibility is to prepare and cook food correctly, including proper assembly and presentation according to recipe specifications. The role requires maintaining food quality and safety standards, keeping kitchen areas clean and sanitary, and responding to the needs of guests, managers, and coworkers in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Ability to accurately read recipes and prepare items according to company specifications within acceptable time ranges.
• Working knowledge of food recipes and specifications.
• Working knowledge of and consistent focus on food-safety standards.
• Ability to communicate clearly and respond promptly to the needs of guests, managers, and employees.
• Ability to maintain a calm demeanor in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment.
• Ability to maintain personal health and sanitation standards and help maintain a safe, clean working environment.

Responsibilities

• Read recipes accurately and prepare prep items according to company specifications and within acceptable time ranges.
• Inform managers promptly of food-quality issues, significant problems, food-safety concerns, or subpar food products.
• Maintain working knowledge of food recipes and specifications to support quality assurance.
• Follow food-safety standards and maintain personal health and sanitation standards.
• Help ensure a safe working environment that reduces the risk of foodborne illness, injury, and accidents.
• Keep the dish, cook, and expo lines clean and sanitary.
• Stock and restock items as needed, including when deliveries arrive.
• Maintain favorable working relationships and communicate clearly and promptly with guests, managers, and employees.
• Maintain a calm demeanor in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment.
• Follow company rules and policies described in the staff handbook.
• Complete job responsibilities in a timely and effective manner and perform other duties as required or requested.
