About The Position

Canteen is hiring a part-time Prep Cook at Schindler Elevators in Morristown, New Jersey. The position pays $17.00 per hour, and the employer is willing to train. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; further details are provided during the interview. The Prep Cook prepares food and serves customers in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. The role includes preparing food to established recipes and production requirements, maintaining food quality and safety, operating and cleaning equipment, and providing efficient, friendly customer service.

Responsibilities

• Obtain the daily production schedule and preparation requirements from the Chef.
• Prepare items listed on production sheets using established quantities and recipes.
• Complete and follow daily production worksheets and waste log sheets, and taste completed meals to ensure quality.
• Operate and clean equipment according to department procedures after each use.
• Store, label, and date food items according to policy, and follow HACCP guidelines.
• Complete required documentation, reports, and logs.
• Comply with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
• Take customer orders and prepare items requiring short preparation time.
• Serve customers efficiently and courteously.
• Complete orders from steam tables and grills and serve customers at multiple stations.
• Use approved recipes and production standards to ensure food quality, proper serving temperatures, and standard portion control.
• Resolve customer concerns.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
