About The Position

The University of St. Thomas invites qualified candidates to apply to a Food Service Worker opening within the University's Dining Services Department. This is a full-time, 12-month position with an evening shift available from 12:30 PM to 9:00 PM. The position works a flexible schedule based on business needs and could include nights and weekends. This position is designated Emergency Essential, meaning employees may be expected to remain at work or report to work during campus closures.

Requirements

  • At least a year of experience with food preparation, ideally in an institutional setting
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check is a condition of employment for all Dining Services positions

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance in the food preparation of meals in back-of-house or front-of-house operations
  • Interact with customers and prepare customized, made-to-order menu items in a high-volume environment
  • Prep food throughout shift and assist all culinary staff in completing prep sheet
  • Set up/close down open line workstation for service
  • Follow ServSafe food handling guidelines and maintain a clean work station
