About The Position

Southern Foodservice Management is seeking an Evening Shift Food Service Worker for their location at Fort Lee. This role involves food preparation, customer service during meal times, simple cooking tasks, and maintaining food safety and sanitation standards. The position requires adherence to company conduct and safety procedures, and flexibility to support various aspects of meal production, service, and cleaning.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation work of menu items including slicing, dicing, chopping, cutting, rolling, mixing, washing, rinsing, panning, slacking, etc.
  • Efficiently and proficiently serving customers on the serving lines during meal service times, maintaining proper flow rate.
  • Perform simple cooking tasks such as 1 step heating (i.e. scoop and bake cookies).
  • Maintaining proper food safety and handling techniques per applicable food code and HACCP standards.
  • Following and enforcing proper safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Conducting duties in an orderly and professional manner according to Southern Foodservice code of conduct.
  • Following direction of Cook I in carrying out duties and procedures.
  • Preparation of food products according to daily menu recipes, ensuring proper cooking and garnishing.
  • Cooking of simple required meal items according to the daily menu.
  • Checking temperatures for required ranges and ensuring products are properly cooked and set out for meal service.
  • Replenishing food items during service, greeting and caring for customers, and breaking down service areas after meal periods.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and appearance of service line and areas during meal periods, wiping up spills.
  • Clearing service lines and thoroughly cleaning service lines and areas after meal service.
  • Performing other cleaning tasks assigned by Cook I, Shift Leader or Management.
  • Supporting meal production, service, and cleaning after the meal or the dining facility as assigned.
