About The Position

The Prep Cell Unboxer is responsible for unboxing furniture, preparing it for staging and delivery, and maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment. This role involves inspecting merchandise for damages, assembling items, and ensuring accurate labeling and inventory. The position also requires assisting other departments and adhering to safety procedures.

• Maintain knowledge of employment, merchandise handling, and safety procedures.
• Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, climbing, crawling, walking, pulling, lifting, talking, typing, hearing/listening and repetitive motion.
• Lifting up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 20 lbs. constantly to move objects.

• Occasionally works in hot and/or cold temperatures and occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.

Responsibilities

• Unbox all furniture in the assigned area, completing one door before moving to the next.
• Place product on carts for ease of movement.
• Install all feet and knobs.
• Assist deluxers with wiping down furniture and placing in stop order in the appropriate staging lane.
• Stock all cages with merchandise.
• Make sure all merchandise is labeled with a destination using a scan gun properly.
• Assemble merchandise for next day deliveries.
• Keep warehouse area clean.
• Open merchandise, maintain all cages, remove trash from work area, sweep work area.
• Inspect merchandise for functionality, damages, defects, and imperfections.
• Use proper procedures when working with knives, flat carts, and lifting merchandise.
• Account for all scheduled items for next day delivery, checking for shortages through auditing the manifest.
• Assist other departments in the warehouse as needed.
• Check daily closing assignments and responsibilities.
• Use excellent customer relations when working with internal and external customers.
• Perform any other duties as directed by management.
