Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university required in Accounting, Business, Management or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with billing and billing systems, audit review, and all rules/regulations for all states.
  • Working knowledge of billing, accounts receivable, billing systems and audit review, required.
  • Familiarity with insurance rules, regulations and laws for all states.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to apply principles of logic to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to use technology to help assist in interpreting the data provided.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises all internal audit processing activities, both technical and clerical.
  • Supervises Premium Audit inside operations, including technical and administrative processing activities.
  • Monitors workload and plans for fluctuations in volume to ensure departmental timelines are met.
  • Coordinates Premium Audit operational processes with audit activities and partners closely with Premium Audit leadership to achieve department objectives.
  • Monitors departmental performance goals and implements strategies to ensure targets are achieved.
  • Operates as the Premium Audit department leader.
  • Partners with internal departments, including Premium Accounting, Claims, Unit Stat, IT, Legal, and Underwriting, to resolve complex and escalated issues, improve processes, provide training, and serve as a technical resource.
  • Communicates with insureds and agents to address escalated audit-related issues and support resolution.
  • Compiles and distributes reports to Premium Audit Leadership.
  • Works with IT on new systems and automation as needed to be more efficient.
  • Performs departmental staffing and personnel duties.
  • Assists leadership team as needed.
  • Helps to develop skills and career planning of team members.
  • Develops new procedures and training as needed.
  • Develops and supervises a Premium Audit team.
  • Develops and supervises a Premium Audit Quality team, including Reviewers and Technical Specialists responsible for quality assurance and dispute resolution.
  • Provides daily direction to Premium Audit team.
  • Communicates Mission, Values and other organization operating principles to direct reports.
  • Establishes and maintains the overall work cadence and, in partnership with Manager, ensures performance and outcomes strive for excellence in delivery and customer experience.
  • Ensures that the entire team is engaged and that leadership practices encourage development, recognition and retention.
  • Establishes and adheres to hiring criteria, on-boarding and training requirements for incoming staff.
  • Oversees the performance management and development process for the team and performs performance management duties, development planning and coaching for direct reports.
  • Manages technology and other resources, workload and customer requests for Premium Audit services.
  • Ensures adherence to all Company policies and procedures and Compliance responsibilities.
  • Ensures data quality, adherence to IT security guidelines, profitability and other risk-related metrics for self and members of the team.
  • Directly supervises employees within the Premium Audit team and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • These responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; conducting performance and salary reviews; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; coaching, mentoring, and developing team members to further their skills and knowledge; creating and monitoring development plans; setting performance expectations/goals; forecasting staffing needs and planning for peak times and absences; enforcing department policies and procedures.
