About The Position

The Pre-Owned Automotive Sales Associate, also called a Product Specialist, answers questions about the dealership’s products and services and helps customers feel welcome and supported throughout the car-purchasing process. The associate assists customers with purchase decisions, explains product performance and benefits, and works with employees and customers to build relationships and enhance the sales process. The position reports to the Sales Manager and requires maintaining training requirements for certification.

Requirements

Enthusiasm and high energy throughout the sales workday.
A friendly, competitive personality, especially when handling objections and negotiating pricing.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Computer skills and basic math skills.
Punctuality.
Previous experience in automotive sales.

Interest in training additional sales associates after getting up to speed.

Responsibilities

Offer assistance or direction to customers who enter the car dealership.
Assist customers in making purchase decisions by asking questions and listening carefully to their needs and responses.
Work directly with employees and customers to develop relationships and enhance the sales process.
Explain product performance, application, and benefits to prospective customers.
Report objectives, planned activities, reviews, and analysis to the Sales Manager.
Maintain training requirements to become certified.
