Haverhill Public Schools is seeking a Pre-K Inclusion Special Education Teacher for the Moody Pre School for the 2026-2027 school year. This role involves providing direct services to children in integrated and pullout settings, developing modifications for regular classrooms, and participating as a member of the evaluation team. The teacher will evaluate referred children, develop reports and IEPs, train Educational Support Personnel, and coordinate team meetings. Collaboration with colleagues and parents is essential. The position requires a strong understanding of subject matter, pedagogy, and student developmental levels, with the ability to design differentiated learning experiences, well-structured lessons, and measurable outcomes. The teacher will utilize various assessment methods to track student progress, analyze data to improve learning, and provide feedback to students and families. Instruction should be motivating, engaging, and accommodate diverse learning needs, including those of students with disabilities and English learners. A safe and supportive learning environment will be maintained, fostering students' interpersonal and communication skills. Cultural proficiency and the ability to manage conflicts arising from differences are expected. High expectations for student work, effort, and behavior will be communicated and enforced, with adaptations made to ensure accessibility for all students. Family and community engagement strategies will be employed, and parents will be regularly updated on curriculum and provided with clear expectations. Two-way communication with families will be maintained, demonstrating respect and sensitivity to their home language, culture, and values. The teacher will regularly reflect on practice, set professional goals, and collaborate effectively with colleagues on curriculum development, student work analysis, and intervention planning. Contributions to school-level decision-making are expected, along with reinforcing schoolwide behavior and learning expectations. Additional responsibilities include instruction and duties as assigned by the Principal, Director of Special Education, Superintendent, or School Committee.
