About The Position

The Department of Economic Security (DES) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join their team as a Pre-Employment Transition Services Coordinator with the Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA). This position is responsible for the continued development, oversight, and supervision of pre-employment transition services within the Vocational Rehabilitation program. The role ensures compliance with the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act regarding pre-employment transition services and aims to offer these services statewide to eligible students with disabilities aged 14-22. Travel will be required for state business, and employees operating a vehicle must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record. This position may offer the ability to work remotely within Arizona, based on business needs and performance. Requirements

  • Must possess knowledge of vocational rehabilitation services and pre-employment transition services for youth with disabilities.
  • Must have knowledge of working in the field of vocational rehabilitation and experience working with school-age youth in the provision of transition services.
  • Must have a working knowledge of overseeing laws, regulations, rules, and policies that affect pre-employment transition services for youth involved in the Vocational Rehabilitation program.
  • Must have knowledge of effective supervisory techniques.
  • Skills in oral and written communication.
  • Utilize a variety of software applications for the generation of information and communication.
  • Skills in providing guidance and assistance effectively in relation to transition services.
  • Skill in reading and understanding contracts and budgets, problem-solving, and interpreting data to implement solutions.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage complex situations and relationships.
  • Ability to complete and analyze complex assignments.
  • Ability to provide leadership and team building.
  • Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling or related field.
  • Successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).
  • Successfully pass background and reference checks.

  • Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides supervision and oversight of pre-employment transition specialists throughout the state of Arizona.
  • Provides guidance to program managers, supervisors, and counselors.
  • Facilitates meetings with RSA staff and pre-employment transition service providers and partners.
  • Participates in public relations and community outreach concerning pre-employment transition services.
  • Coordinates with community agencies and local education agencies, including representing Rehabilitation Services Administration on committees and work groups.
  • Leads efforts in strategic planning to develop and implement programs, policies, and best practices to continually enhance the pre-employment transition services available and utilized by youth in the state of Arizona.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert for pre-employment transition services.
  • Provides leadership, technical assistance, and training to staff.
  • Provides programmatic consultation regarding contractual agreements for pre-employment transition services.
  • Prepares reports and presentations on pre-employment transition service delivery, utilization, and expenditures.
  • Analyzes and monitors performance.
